A Look Into The World Series Of Beer Pong

The first World Series Of Beer Pong was held in 2006.  Just like with the regular games of beer pong, the World Series games were played with two teams.  Each team had two players.  The beer pong tournament lasted three days.

During the tournament, the rules were that each team was to have six cups that each had beer in them.  Each cup was filled halfway and placed on a table.  Each person from both teams would hit ping pong balls.

They would hit the balls aiming to land in the cups of their opponents.

When the balls would fall in a cup, the opposing team would drink the beer from that cup.

The object of the tournament is not to have all of the teams’ beer drunk up.  Otherwise, they lose the game.  While playing in the tournament, the players were not required to drink the beer in the cups.  They also had a choice to drink water, which they turned down.

When they did drink the beer, they tried their best not to get drunk, but some of the players were close to it.

There were 11 games played for each team and each one lasted about an hour.  If they would have drank those cups of beer during intermission, they probably would have gotten drunk.  In order to play, each person had to be at least 21 years old or older.  They could not get in unless they had a valid ID.

As they played, the teams had to keep in mind that with beer pong, they had to keep focus.  It was easy to get distracted when they would provoke each other by teasing and taunting.  The mental atmosphere had to play a large role in who was going to win.

The teams were required to pay $550 in order to play in the beer pong tournament.

In addition to the tournament, the fee also covered their room and board at a hotel, lots of food, and plenty of beer.  While in the tournament, some of the guys really wanted to be show offs by acting silly and prancing around.

They did have a the major beer company as a sponsor.  However, that was short lived when the company found out about it.  They had to pull out because it was against company policy to support events like beer pong.

They didn’t want to be contributing to the cause of alcohol consumption or the abundance of it.

The players know that drinking beer is part of the tournament, hence the name beer pong.  The World Series of Beer Pong wouldn’t be what it is if it didn’t include beer.  Even though the participants of the tournament did drink beer, they also had a breathalyzer on hand to check their alcohol levels.

The participants seemed to think that this tournament was all about fun.  However, some other people were taking a different path.  They were afraid that this tournament could turn into a drinking binge for the players involved.

Despite others’ fears and opinions, it looks like The World Of Beer Pong won’t be ending anytime soon.
