Who Uses Wood Pellets As a Winter Fuel?

If you have not been aware of wood pellets, you might wonder who uses wood pellets as a winter fuel.  There are not a lot of requirements, but you have to make the decision to make a few concessions.

It may be surprising how many people use wood pellets as a winter fuel.  Here are a few.

* People in Europe.  In fact, two-thirds of the homes in Austria are heated by wood pellets.  Other countries in Europe are fond of wood pellets as well.  Italy is one of the important users of wood pellets as a winter fuel.

* People who are near a source of pellets.  These people are more apt to use wood pellets as a winter fuel because they are more aware of them.  They also do not have to pay as much for having them transported to their homes.  They may have three one-ton deliveries a year from a nearby factory.

* People who have a place to burn them.  Without a place to burn the pellets, they are worthless.  However, even a home with a simple fireplace can be outfitted cheaply with a pellet basket.  If people want to burn wood pellets exclusively as a winter fuel, they might want to get a pellet stove.  The stoves are relatively inexpensive and easy to maintain.

* People who are concerned about the environment.  Using wood pellets as a winter fuel is far less damaging to the soil, water, and air than petroleum-based fuels.  They also come from a renewable energy source, so they are not depleting the earth’s natural resources as those other fuels are.

* Businesses.  There is a place for wood pellets as a winter fuel in businesses who want to go green.  This is also a sound economical decision for the company.  The pellets are far less expensive than oil or natural gas.  Office buildings can be heated efficiently using wood pellets in steam boilers.

* Factories.  There is also a need for warmth in the places where products are manufactured.  Workers need to stay warm to do their work adequately.  Some products are also best kept at a steady temperature.  Using wood pellets as a winter fuel can meet these needs.

* Schools.  Children and young adults learn better when they are the most comfortable and warm.  Teachers and professors can concentrate on their lectures and helping their students.  Using wood pellets as winter fuel in schools is a good idea.  What is more, it is an idea that can save money for struggling school systems.

* Governmental workers.  When government buildings use wood pellets for winter fuel, it saves tax payers money.  Government buildings such as courthouses are notoriously hard to heat, anyway.  With a little help from some steam boilers run by wood pellets, the buildings can run efficiently.

The answer to the question of who uses wood pellets as a winter fuel is: anyone who wants to use it.

It only takes a few modifications to a house or building to get it ready to use the pellets.  When the savings from the pellets start kicking in, it will be worth the change.
