How Do You Play Beer Pong?

Beer pong is a game that involves among all things, drinking beer.  It also involves direct eye contact between the persons that are playing.  Beer Pong can be played with either two or four people.  The ones who usually play this game are college kids.

To play beer pong, you will need about 14 – 20 plastic drinking cups.  The cups should be about 12 – 20 ounces, depending on how much beer will be in them.  The color of the cups that people usually get is red.  Also to play beer pong, a table is needed.  The size should be no more than eight feet in length and three feet in width.

One of the most important things needed to play this game is ping pong balls.  You may want to have at least a half dozen to a dozen on hand.  The more you have, the better off you will be for having some left over.  You will also need extra in the event the ping pong balls are damaged or lost.  There is some fierceness when playing this game and it’s not a surprise that some balls end up missing.

You can have six to ten cups set up as though you were setting up bowling pins.  They should end up in a triangular shape.  You can start with one at the top, then two, three and four afterward, if you’re setting up ten.  If you’re setting up six, then you would do one cup, then two and three.

The players get to toss the ping pong balls for two times each.  This is standard for each team.  Each player is allowed to bounce the ball in order for it to go in the cup.  However, this is not always the best way to do it.

If the player is skilled in scoring, then maybe it might work for them.  Otherwise, the players are taking a risk doing it this way.  The ball should only bounce one time.  The opponents are allowed to push the ball in another direction away from them.

There is not just one way to play the game.  Players are allowed to blow the ball out of motion if the balls spin in the cup.  As it’s spinning, the ball can be blown out of the cup and the opposing player wouldn’t get credit for it.

This may not be particularly sanitary as far as drinking the beer is concerned.  That’s why some players opt to have water and paper towels or napkins nearby to wipe the residue from the ball if it makes contact with the ground or landed in the cup.

Another way to do this is to get two of the players from the same team to get the ball in the same cup.  This would validate them getting another shot with the ball and the cups.  Depending on how many cups had balls in them, that’s how many cups that team would drink from.

There are different ways that people will throw the ball in order to score and make the opposing team antsy.  This game among college kids is supposed to be fun.  However, there are some that may take beer pong to another level beyond that.
